UK
Prices in pounds sterling include postage and packing within the UK.

Overseas
Prices in dollars for prints include airmail to the USA. To purchase an original painting if you are outside the UK please use the Contact page to request a price in any specified currency together with a postage & packing quote.

All deliveries of original paintings purchased through this website are through a courier with a tracking service so that the whereabouts of your painting can be checked by you during transit.

Where a frame for a painting is included in the price an image of it is displayed on the same page.

Rolled unmounted prints of paintings that are still available in the original can be purchased where specified. These come with free vouchers that can be used in part payment for any painting that is for sale on this website. Click here for further details of this scheme.

When the original of a painting is sold then professionally window mounted, signed and shrink-wrapped or cellophane wrapped prints of it become available as soon as possible.

Secure online payment

Secure online payment can be made through the Paypal online bank with a credit or debit card, or by using a Paypal account if you have one. Access to Paypal payment facilities occurs when you click on any payment buttons on this website.

Payment by phone

Payment with a credit or debit card can also be made by phone. To do so ring 01736 787268 (within the UK). Please have ready your card details, billing address and delivery address (if different). Usually this service is available between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. (GMT) 7 days a week. However if your call cannot be taken please leave a message with your phone number and a time to return your call. A 10% quantity discount for two or more items of the same type is available for payments by phone.

Payment by cheque or postal order

In order to make a purchase by cheque or postal order you will first need to contact the artist about your intended purchase through the Contact page. Once you have confirmed in this way that the piece you wish to purchase is available then you will be able to secure it for delivery to you (free postage and packing within the UK) by writing your cheque or postal order for the stated amount (payable to Tom Henderson Smith) and sending it with your full address to:

Payments by cheque or postal order can only be accepted when:

a full address and post code for delivery of goods is supplied
when arrangements for delivery of goods have been agreed by both parties
(In the case of payments exceeding £50) when the cheque has been cleared by the issuing bank.

GIFT TOKENS for use on this website or to buy work at the Turn of the Tide Studio can also be purchased by cheque or postal order.

Policy on suspicious cheques.

Quantity discounts with cheque / postal order payments or payments by phone with a credit / debit card

A 10% discount applies if you are paying for any two or more items of the same type (i.e. two or more prints, two or more paintings, two or more drawings etc). This can be done by cheque / postal order or by credit / debit card over the phone (see above). In the case of prints this discount applies to either two or more of the same image or to multiple images.

If paying over the phone please state the titles of the pieces you wish to purchase and whether they are prints, drawings or paintings. You will then be quoted a discounted price. Please have your card details and delivery address ready.

Discounts for cheque or postal order payments can be arranged via the Contact page or by calling 01736 787268 (Please be prepared to leave a message stating the titles of the pieces you wish to purchase and a return phone number if necessary). You will then be quoted a discounted price.

Discounted payments are unfortunately not available via the Paypal system.

Wholesale and sale or return terms for Galleries

Wholesale purchase or sale-or-return terms can be negotiated with appropriate galleries by writing to the artist via the Enquiries page. Once an original painting or drawing has been accepted for sale through a gallery then the name of the gallery and a website link if this is available will be posted up next to the image of the piece on this website. If any price for the piece is shown on this website it will the same as the gallery selling price. In the case of any sale of the same work by myself through this website while it is displayed by a gallery I will pay the gallery sales commission on completion.

Open edition prints are available to galleries at a sale or return discount of 30% and a wholesale discount of 50% plus postage and packing.

Pricing structure

Pricing of original paintings and drawings on this website is as follows:

Each piece of new work that forms part of my most recent collection is given an exhibition price that will apply at the time of the show for which it is intended. As exhibitions are planned many months ahead advanced purchase of these works is also possible with discounts that are at their maximum when the exhibition dates are first decided and are reduced at regular intervals as the time for the show approaches. In these cases such discounted pre-exhibition sales (inclusive of postage and packing) are on the understanding that the piece in question will be delivered without extra charge at the close of the exhibition. The "Buy Now" facility in these cases enables such pre-exhibition discounted purchases to be made online.
Other pieces of original work, to be found in the picture indexes for landscape and seascape paintings, charcoal drawings or people and festival paintings are generally priced considerably lower than those in the new work collection but these prices are also inclusive of postage and packing within the UK. These pieces are available for immediate delivery.
From time to time a small selection of pieces, usually from the landscape and seascape paintings section, is available through the ebay online auction site and in such cases links to images of these works will be set up from the home page. A link to the relevant page on ebay will also be set up from the individual image page for each of these pieces on this website.
